The Elliott Museum is a museum in Port St. Lucie, Florida that focuses on the history of the area and its residents. The museum was founded by Dr. and Mrs. J.D. Elliott in 1984, and it is now run by their son, Jim Elliott. The museum features exhibits on topics such as local archaeology, the St. Lucie Canal, and the Miccosukee Tribe. There are also exhibits on explorers Ponce de Leon and Pedro Menendez de Aviles. The museum is housed in an old post office that was built in 1960 using parts of Camp Elliott, an army camp that was used during World War II. Today, there are so many things you can do in the museum that you can easily spend half a day there and not get bored.

One of the great things about the museum is that it has something for everyone. If you are interested in history, there are plenty of exhibits to keep you occupied. The Elliott Museum offers a variety of experiences and activities for visitors. Below is the list of activities you can do in the museum:

  • Take a photo with one of the museum's mascots, Lola and Limer.
  • Take a tour of the exhibits led by volunteer docents that explain local history.
  • Watch an educational video about archaeology or other topics at the theater inside the gift shop.

The museum also offers rooms with resources and materials to add on to the exhibits, such as:

  • An archaeology lab for hands-on experience with artifacts
  • A computer lab where visitors can search databases of local history
  • A media room that shows different films about Florida's history

When you visit the Elliott Museum, you are not just coming to see exhibits but to also have activities that will enhance your knowledge of Florida's history. Whether you are a local or tourist, the Elliott Museum is open to all ages and will guarantee an experience that will last you a lifetime!
